YOPET began with a dog who has always been part of our lives.
She has always stayed with us — in the way we think, the way we care, and the way we see animals.
From her, we learned something simple: when you are responsible for a life, attention is never optional.

At first, it was just daily care. Over time, we began breeding. And after becoming members for a year, we obtained our BREEDER certification.
That was when things began to change. Care was no longer a feeling. It became a discipline.
We started to understand dogs more closely — how they grow, how behaviour forms, what they need at different stages.
None of this came from books, but from living with them every day.

As breeders, we have always respected life deeply.
We do not sell retired dogs, and we do not rehome them. To us, they are not something to be replaced or passed on.
They stay with us, are cared for, remembered, and live with us as family.
Our breeding frequency is intentionally low, because we value each individual life more than numbers.
What changed everything.
During our breeding journey, we encountered a puppy born with a severely underdeveloped lung. The vet believed it might not survive.
It had already gone stiff twice. But we did not give up.Twice it went stiff. We didn’t stop.
We performed CPR, fed it through a syringe, and stayed with it.
They stay.
That moment changed how we understand life. It is not something to be measured or weighed. Even with the cost involved, we never hesitated.

Then COVID-19 happened. Grooming services stopped almost overnight, but the dogs still needed care.
So we learned to groom them ourselves. We started with no experience, and learned through repetition and time.
It was never about starting a business. It was simply the next step in taking care of them.
Over time, people around us began asking if we could do the same for their dogs. That is how YOPET began — in Melbourne.

Behind YOPET is a team. Experienced groomers, breeders, and handlers — people who work closely with dogs every day.
From grooming to daily care, we understand that no two dogs are the same, and the work is never simple.
We take time to understand each dog — their behaviour, their rhythm, what they can accept, and what they need.
Some take longer. Some dislike certain steps. Some need things to move slowly. We adjust. That is our work.
A quieter standard.
It is not only pedigree dogs, or “perfect” dogs, that deserve care.
Every dog deserves to be properly cared for.
